Elevator Manufacturing
The Development of China's Elevator Market and the Application of Laser Cutting Technology
With the profound changes in the residential property market, China has become one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing elevator markets. Looking back at the development history of China’s elevator industry, it has quietly gone through a journey of evolution: from non-existence to existence, from scarcity to abundance, and from mass production to refined manufacturing. Driven by the ongoing transformation of the residential sector, China’s status as a global leader in elevator market scale and growth momentum remains solid.
The surge in real estate infrastructure construction has led to a corresponding surge in demand for elevators and their accessories, propelling both the elevator manufacturing and elevator parts industries into a brand-new stage of development. However, the contradiction between the continuously growing product demand and outdated production processes has become increasingly prominent. Against this backdrop, laser cutting technology has been increasingly widely applied in elevator manufacturing.
Laser cutting boasts a relatively wide processing range, but since the materials used for elevator sheet metal parts are relatively single, there is not much focus on processing materials such as copper plates, aluminum plates, or plastics. For elevator sheet metal parts, the key requirement for laser cutting machines lies in processing speed. In recent years, fiber laser cutting machines—an emerging force in the laser processing market—have been widely adopted in elevator manufacturing. This is mainly due to the high alignment between their processing capabilities and the specific needs of elevator sheet metal processing, including requirements for thin sheets (less than 5mm), low precision demands on cutting edges, and high cutting speed.
